What a year we've had!
At the start of a new year it is easy to look forward to what next year might bring and all our hopes for the future. But it seems like a good time to reflect on everything that has happened over the last year - and what a year it has been!
We have had such an amazing year that I do feel rather grateful for all that happened, from our getting married in March, and our exciting flying honeymoon where we go to do formation flying and tailchasing in Mustangs (no less!) and floatplane flying at Jack Brown's Float Plane school in Florida. We would really recommend both of these!
Following this, Mike and I started competing our new (for us) Extra 230, me at Advanced and Mike at Intermediate, with the aim of qualifying for the British Intermediate Team scheduled to go to South Africa in the November. My scores improved with every competition and Mike went from strength to strength - finishing the season as British Intermediate Champion.
We thoroughly enjoying our air display training camp with Rob Howarth at Compton Abbas to improve our display flying skills and add new tricks to our air display sequence.
And to finish off the year, we spent an amazing 3 weeks in South Africa at the inaugural World Intermediate Aerobatics Championships, on quite the flying adventure - culminating with Mike finishing in the top ten and the British Team winning the team Silver medal!
Here's to hoping that 2015 will be even half as exciting! Thank you to all who helped us along the way in 2014, and to all those who are kind enough to help us in 2015.
We usually shy away from such photos but it's been such a good year we felt the need to show off our silverware stash - I should admit that most of these are Mike's (although not all...)
