This weekend was the 60th anniversary of the British Womens' Pilots Association - diamonds in the sky was the headline. It was a weekend packed with lectures and events to celebrate the things women have accomplished in aviation since the first lady was issued her licence in the UK in 1911 and the subsequent establishment of the BWPA in 1955. With the Nationals only a few weeks away we decided it was probably best to get some focussed training in. We got some of the old team from South Africa together and went to Little Gransden airfield-a lovely airfield west of Cambridge. It was nice to combine some intensive training with catching up with friends. We were lucky enough to stay in the cottages on site which meant we could prepare for the next day's training in the on site hot tub!

This week we bid a final farewell to our little Extra. She is a delight to fly and has taught us well but she has finally gone to her new home. We will miss her, and will look back fondly, but the Cap is such an amazing aircraft that it is not too sad a farewell. Here they are one last time, new and old together, in Ultimate Aerobatics' colours!
