Introduction to Competitions

This weekend saw the first of this year's Club events. This is a great opportunity for people to find out more about aerobatic competitions in a relaxed environment.

On the day there is a briefing which covers the format of the event as well as what the judges are looking for. If the weather allows each participant then has two flights. The first is a training flight away from the airfield where you cover the figures required for the club sequence with an instructor and then come back to fly the sequence in front of the judges. Each person receives feedback on their flight and then (if the weather allows) gets to fly it again.

It was great to see so many people interested in having a go at competitions with so many of them accompanied by friends and family (and some rather wonderful picnics) on the day.

If you fancy a go let us know and we'd be happy to let you know of any other opportunities throughout the year.

Here are some of the pilots flying G-ODDS this weekend including Oliver (who came first) and Ed (who came third). Well done to all.
